Yes, it is official folks. JoCo will be playing a one night show with comedy music duo Paul and Storm at Wilbert's on November 30th @ 8 PM. You cannot imagine how incredibly pumped I was when Paul e-mailed to tell me they secured the date. Rock on with cha bad selves!

Also, you may also be interested to know that Paul and Storm have just released their new CD this week called "News To You: Songs from the Bob and Tom Show," which features, along with hillarious comedy songs by Paul and Storm, a duo with Jonathan Coulton.

Oh, I also designed and drew the artwork for the entire CD. I've never done that before, so it was a great opportunity. For those who are interested, here's what that looks like. (Notice the Bob and Tom Zombies --or Tombies -- on the front cover.)

So what are you waiting for? You can buy your own copy for posterity here.

BTW, for those of you in Columbus, I believe Coulton will be playing down there, too, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. So if you play your cards right, you might be able to see them play twice in a row! But at the very least, Nora and I will see you all at the Cleveland show! Woo-hoo!

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN ZOMBIE-ISM: Max Brooks, son of legendary comedian, Mel Brooks, has written a book called The Zombie Survival Guide, a very tongue-in-cheek, dry guide to surviving a zombie attack. He is also just published a book entitled "World War Z: An Oral History Of the Zombie Wars". With my involvement in starting the Zombie Army group on Flickr, this seems to be right up this blog's alley.

Not only does this play in directly with my work with the Zombie Army, but there is also an art contest associated with the paperback edition of the book:

"We invite you to create a graphic image inspired by the events recounted in the book. We'll choose one winner and the winner's art will be featured on the WorldWarZ.net website. In fall 2007, the art will become part of the paperback edition of World War Z, where it will live in perpetuity!"

Check out the whole deal here. I tried sending some images this morning, but they messages came back undeliverable, so perhaps they are still working out the bugs. But I'll be sure to keep checking.

...besides visiting us of course. A local resident has decided to buy the house where "A Christmas Story" was filmed in 1983 and turn it into a tourist stop:

"The Grand Opening of A Christmas Story House, now restored to its movie glory, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 25. Also opening directly across the street from the house is the official A Christmas Story House Museum, which will feature original props and memorabilia from the film, as well as rare behind-the-scenes photos. Actors from “A Christmas Story” who played Randy, Flick, Scut Farkus, Grover Dill and Miss Shields will officiate the opening ceremonies."

For those of you not from Cleveland, you have to understand...this is a very big deal. Before A Christmas Story, the only movie of note that was shot here was "Those Lips, Those Eyes" with Frank Langella. What a pile of crap. Oh, and some parts of "The Deer Hunter" were shot in Cleveland's Little Italy. Come to think of it, American Splendor was shot right here in Lakewood. And this past spring, we saw the crew of Spider Man 3 blowing up cars right downtown on Euclid Avenue...

But A Christmas Story! Come on! This movie is such a time-honored, iconic tradition every Christmas. Our neighborhood actually looks a little like the neighborhood in A Christmas Story. It's one bright, shining moment in Cleveland history. And I, for one, find this very cool. So, start making your plans today! What a great way to kick off the Christmas season...by spending it with Messy Marvin!

This is from an assignment my son, Max, did for school. He was to write sentences. And this is one that he did.

First off, no. I did not ask him to do this. And even if I did, I doubt I would tell people to go to Zazzle, without mentioning the real URL which is http://www.zazzle.com/jawboneradio*. Notice that he didn't add the Zazzle Star (*) which is of the utmost importance.

Secondly, I would have had him put a few images from the shop, just to let people know what I was selling. Sheesh. Give me some credit, why dont'cha? ;)

(Actually, I'm mildly embarassed. I haven't talked to his teacher yet to see what she thought about it. More importantly, I wonder if she would be interested in buying anything from me.)

I found this awesome video today while checking out another Code Monkey video on You Tube. I really like this video. And I think the reason is because the young girl in this video has the same haircut that Nora had when I met her in college. Plus, I'm a sucker for redheads. Anyway, I can see this dance really taking off in the club scene, or wherever you little hooligans and whippersnappers hang out nowadays.

On the latest episode of the The Bitterest Pill (which incidentally, is one the best solocasts ever produced -- no joke) host Dan Klass laments the fact that he was so busy at the Expo, that he never got a cartoon that I promised him. So here it is in all it's glory. I really hope he enjoys it. Otherwise, I think I may just keep drawing it over and over again until both he and I are happy with it. Or my carpeltunnel kicks in. Or both.

Star Trek as a reality has gotten one step closer:

"Physicists in Denmark have teleported information from light to matter bringing quantum communication and computing closer to reality. Until now scientists have teleported similar objects such as light or single atoms over short distances from one spot to another in a split second. But Professor Eugene Polzik and his team at the Niels Bohr Institute at Copenhagen University in Denmark have made a breakthrough by using both light and matter.

The experiment involved for the first time a macroscopic atomic object containing thousands of billions of atoms. They also teleported the information a distance of half a meter but believe it can be extended further."

Well, the PME is over and we are now enjoying some well-deserved downtime with some family in CA. The weekend was a complete blast and I expect to have many photos and stories to share on the podcast and on Flickr. It was great meeting everyone at the Expo, including a bunch of Trypod members and also podcasting icons like Dan Klass, Brian and Tina Ibbott, Eric Rice, Andrew Baron and Joanne Colan, and countless others.
