I will be taking part in Red Nose Day on March 13th. This is a day encouraging doing something funny for a good cause. It was started by the Brits and the tradition is being continued here with Red Nose Net.
My contribution to the cause will be a limited edition zombie clown print that will be available for sale for ONE DAY ONLY - March 13th. Here's a little preview of the image. Also, you can take part in Red Nose Day as well, by creating something humorous and funny online during the day. More info can be found here.
Remember, the print will be for sale for one day. So stay tuned for progress as I get my art done.

Upcoming Art Project - Now It Can Be Told!
For those of you who have been following me on Twitter, I have been making some reference to a super secret art project I've been working on for DragonCon. Well, since the DragonCon weekend has come and gone, I can finally reveal what I've been working on and will be working on over the next few weeks. I am collaborating with Ken Plume from QuickStop Entertainment and John Robinson from NeedCoffee on a children;s book called "There's A Zombie In My Treehouse!" The book cover and website was unveiled this past weekend at DragonCon and you can now sign up for updates at the website. With any luck, the book should be available late fall and I'm sure I'll blog about it when it happens. Until then, head on over and show your support by signing up for updates. More will be coming soon, I'm sure. And if you are interested, see the full size cover and teaser poster art at my Flickr site.

I Like Turtles
You know, ever since I posted about this kid in June, I've been really surprised I haven't been asked to draw him for Monster By Mail yet. Here is his latest iteration. Enjoy!
Speaking of zombies, here's info on a San Diego Zombie Walk from an MBM fan.

Another Zombie Take On A Master
Well, it came as no surprise to me that after I drew Vincent Van Zombie a few weeks ago, that I would start getting some other requests for other famous works by the masters. Here is my take on "Venus On A Halfshell" better known as Sandro Boticelli's "Birth of Venus". It's just a detail of the actual painting, but what did you expect? These are only 4 x 6 cards.
These are pretty challenging to do and it makes me wonder, what other masters will I be able to butcher - er, imitate?

Practical Guide to Keeping Zombies As Pets
I found this cool cartoon while traversing the forums at Rue-Morgue. Pretty cool little guide. It reminds me of this book I had as a kid called "How To Care For Your Monster". There are some good tips to keep in mind. Please print this and hang it near your shotguns.

Upcoming Zombies!
Just so you know, the Zombie Factory wheels are turning and undead after undead are coming off the assembly line. Here is a shot of some of the upcoming zombies. I had a stretch that are "art only" meaning I don't have to videotape the process, which means I can work on multiples. This is what that process looks like. It's a technique that Apelad has been using, so I decided to try it out as well.

Vincent van Zombie
I had to post this because I had a real love hate relationship with this recent zombie order. I was scared to death of doing this one because of the fact that it alludes to one of the great masters. Plus, I could draw this really really well, or I could fail miserably.
I'm happy to say that this worked out really well and that I am very please with the results. I actually considered keeping this one or possibly buying it from the customer. But alas, it is packed and ready to ship. Farewell Vincent!

Zombies In The Wild, At Apple and In Belgium
I've been totally bad about posting submissions that have been coming in from people and I apologize for that. So let me use this time to post about some cool things that have been showing up in my inbox.First off, Michael in SLC (a regular poster) sends me this image of his Tropical Beach Zombie. Says Michael "I was compelled to take a closer look thru our photos from when we were in Hawaii in February of this year: And sure enough, there had been a "Tropical Beach Zombie" following us the whole time!!!!!" Crazy how these things happen!
While we're on the subject of Zombies, Jen sends me this story from a while ago about Zombies Attacking the SF Apple Store. Eek!

Up next, we head to Belgium where Knightwise's beautiful wife Nyana celebrated her 30th birthday. To commemorate the occassion, I drew Nyana as Six from BSG. Woo! The image (along with some others I have drawn for them) are hanging all over their flat.
As always, keep sending along the images everyone and I'll keep posting them!

The Zombie Tees Have Arrived
As you may or may not have noticed on this round of Monster By Mail, I am offering a Zombie T-shirt along with the Mondo Monster Package. Well, I got to see the shirts yesterday and they look THE AWSUM! (Sorry, LOLCats on the brain.)
Anyway, thanks much to my sister and brother-in-law for getting this together for me. They do good work those two. They also did the monster buttons for me as well. And here's something else pretty cool. If you sign up for the Monster By Mail mailing list (see the site for details), you are automatically entered into a drawing for Zombie T-shirts!
So you see, when I say it is the Summer of the Undead, I don't lie, folks.

You Never Forget Your First Zombie...
I started drawing the zombies tonight. And as you know, the first zombie is always the one you remember.
Anywho, to kick off the first zombie of the summer, I merged Coulton with zombies and art and this is what was churned out. On another note, I have to admit...I love the new bloody opening credits. I had fun making that. Anyway, enjoy the first zombie of the summer.

Monster By Mail: Summer Of The Undead - NOW OPEN!
Monster By Mail kicks off the summertime fun with a brand new theme!
As I mentioned on a previous post and on ExtraLife Radio, the new theme for MBM will be everyone's favorite - ZOMBIES!
It's the same principle as before - send me a Zombie name and I'll draw it. Twenty bucks gets you the original art. Thirty adds the video of the creation of your zombie. And for $45, you get the Mondo Monster Package which includes the art, the video a four pack of monster buttons (while supplies last) and a the infamous "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Eat Brains" T-shirt.
It's a great way to celebrate zombism in general and a great way to kick off the Summer of The Undead, as it will come to be known from here on in.
Oh, and don't forget to sign up for the MBM mailing list while you're there. It will give you the heads up on new themes, new promotions, and other special surprises I have in store. Mwuhahahah!
So grab a shovel and let's start busting some zombie skulls open -- er, I mean, get some original zombie art! Go! NOW!

That's right, I'll be drawing zombies for the next round, so keep an eye out for that soon hopefully by the end of the week.Anyway, check out the show and hear my silky voice here. And thanks to Daryl for this really cool zombie photo from a recent Canadian street fair.
