Flirting with WoW

I am toying with the idea of purchasing the MMORPG World of Warcraft for my Mac.

Someone please talk me out of this.

  1. Great game! Loads of fun! Will destroy any free time you might have! How's that for talking you out of it? :)

  2. Ugh. What gets me is that I have to pay to play. Plus the folks at EL aren't even on playing anymore. :( At least I'd know I'd get into a guild of people that I know, instead of being marginalized like the newbie I will be.

  3. Len,
Some are playing, but on new servers. Scott I think went somewhere else. Shoot him an email. And truthfully you don't need a guild until you get way up there in level.

  4. I want to talk you out of it, but I am thinking of starting up myself. (Maybe that is a reason not to join)

Disneys Toon Town, will waste a ton of time too, and it is only 10 bucks a month. Plus they have trading cards.

  5. Well, here's the thing. I have Battefront 2 for the PS2 on hold for next week. And I don't know if starting WOW would be a good strategic move at this point.

Are any of you gamers going to be playing BattleFront 2 online with the PS2? If so, let me know, because I'd love to play against someone else than Japanese teens. :/

  6. If you have an addictive personality, do not start. I have been playing an MMORPG game (Asheron's Call) for a number of years. These games are addicting and can consume massive amounts of your time :)

They are a lot of fun. Esspecially if you have some friends that play.

  8. I think we'll talk about this on a future show. I really want to play it, but like I said, I want to play some people who are playing Battlefront 2. On Ps2. I can't play you PC freaks. ;)

  9. Oh yeah. I forgot that what you need is ANOTHER hobby.

  10. Hey len, I play this game all the time.

And I am telling you, don't get it unless you can stand getting addicted.

If you do, and play alliance, get on the server Whisperwind, and join the Reservoir Dogcows. I will sponsor you :)

Its a Mac Centric guild, and they are super friendly.
