TMBG: The Mesopatamians
More new video love from TMBG, this time for the song The Mesopatamians, one of my faves off the new album. Incidentally, I just found out that the Johns are coming to Cleveland next month, but it's a private show for Case Western Reserve Students only! What up? If anyone can get me a pass, I would be a happy dude.
28 Seconds Later
Nora and I just watched 28 Weeks Later over the weekend. Scary stuff. So I was happy to find these little short gems via Adgabber. See the rest of the short films here.

Program Update
Because of the Indians Playoff Game On Thursday, we will be recording on their off night which will be this Wednesday. Plan accordingly and Go Tribe!
Azeroth Meets Toyota
I saw this commercial during the Browns game yesterday and I am a total loss. I guess this is clever. If there were a WOW Tacoma or something. But there's not. Maybe it would make sense if 16 year olds drove trucks. Moreover, perhaps the marketing would make sense if more "regular" people got the Leroy Jenkins reference. You know what? This makes no sense at all. Whatever Toyoya.

New Videos For The Big Boom
Spiff returns with his WOW videos, this time around with one for the song. The Big Boom. Fans of Spiff's video should keep an eye out for references from his other WOW videos. (Hint: my gnome character from "Podsafe Christmas Song" gets pwned in the video). And for those of you who may have missed it, Emily returns with a new dance to the same song. Enjoy!

Watterson on Schultz
"It's a strange and interesting story, and Mr. Michaelis, the author of a 1998 biography of artist N.C. Wyeth, paces the narrative well, offering many insights and surprising events from Schulz's life. Undoubtedly the most fascinating part of the book is the juxtaposition of biographical information and reproduced "Peanuts" strips. Here we see how literally Schulz sometimes depicted actual situations and events. The strips used as illustrations in "Schulz and Peanuts" are reproduced at eye-straining reduction and are often removed from the context of their stories, but they vividly demonstrate how Schulz used his cartoons to work through private concerns. We discover, for example, that in the recurring scenes of Lucy annoying Schroeder at the piano, the crabby and bossy Lucy stands in for Joyce, and the obsessive and talented Schroeder is a surrogate for Schulz."Check out the article here. Good stuff. Thanks Neil!

Jawbone Radio: Best Podcast in Cleveland!
Whoa. This is pretty insane. We were named the Best Podcast in Cleveland by SCENE magazine, a local free zine. We join the ranks of Christie's Caberet (Voted Best Strip Club), Mark Nolan (Voted Best Weatherman) and The Stich N' Bitch (Voted Best Knitting Club). Nora and I feel both humbled and a little jittery as well. A small excerpt:
"Jawbone is an aural melting pot that combines daily events of the Peralta family, news of the weird, and poptastic interviews with people like "Pac-Man Fever" songwriters Buckner and Garcia -- and even Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson's mom."Check out the award here. Thanks SCENE!
Best. Trumpet. Ever.
Thanks to Michael for sending this in. This is amazing. Not only is it a rendition of the Star Wars theme on the trumpet, but the girl is straight out of the 80s with the black unitard and poofy hair. Then she does an incredibe Charlie Chaplin impression smack dab in the middle that probably took hours to choreograph. God bless you Stacy Hedger. God bless the Internets.

Portal End Song
I know there are a few of you (I'm looking at you, Mark) who have already beaten the Orange Box version of Portal. For the rest of us, who are still waiting for our Orange Box to ship and probably won't be able to beat Portal, here is the end song perfomed by Jonathan Coulton. Apparently, there is a spoiler in the lyrics, so if you don't want the game spoiled don't listen!

Info About The Orange Box
On the last podcast, I alluded to the fact that there was something super secret and cool about Valve's Orange Box coming out this Tuesday. And now, since it has appeared officially as a press release, I'm pretty sure I can mention it now. Check out the info here.

This time in the form of a local mag, West Shore Magazine. You may remember me drawing myself as a zombie for the article this past summer. Well, you can watch the video on the site as well!
"Len Peralta has always had an affinity for the dark side. And who could blame him? With an Oct. 29 birthday, the 36-year-old self-employed graphic designer and marketing consultant considers Halloween almost a personal holiday."Local monster boy makes good! Check it out here. And if you're local, pick up the mag. It's free!
