Jawbone #51: Baseball, Fireworks and Dad

Nora is home sick with our youngest, so my brother-in-law, Mike joins me as we podcast from Jacobs's Field in Cleveland. We face the Arizona Diamondbacks and we beat them, too! (Sorry Aaron in QC). Listen in as I pretend I know what I'm talking about when it comes to baseball, I try to do my best play-by-play and we sing the praises of Tribe shortstop, Jhonny Peralta. It's good old-fashioned American fun, with fireworks to boot! Don't miss music by Stereo Apollo.

  1. First, for doing the show on site at the game, you sounded great! Second, your team sucks, GO DBACKS!
Third, hope you get better Nora.

  2. What a great show! You need to do that kind of thing in stereo (with a binaural mic). The sounds of the stadium are awesome...I could almost smell the hot dogs and the grazs. Maybe I'll just do one from Yankee Stadium for the heck of it sometime. AND HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW WHAT LOB MEANS!? hehe.

Great job, and I hope Norah feels better soon.

  3. I saw Thome play on Saturday against the A's. He was in a Philly Uniform.

I guess all the big league sports announcer have no fear of losing their play by play gig to you two.

LOB = Left on Base. Players left on base after the end of the inning.

  4. Good Game...Good Show. What device do you use for your remote podcasts...iRiver? If so, do you use a special microphone or the internal mic?

  5. I'm using an IRiver and a Sony ECM MS907 mic. Worth every penny.
